Uttoxeter Methodist Church

Uttoxeter Methodist Church are a loving family who worship together regularly on a Sunday and welcome people of all ages to join us. We have groups for children and young people during our Sunday morning services and you can always be assured of a friendly welcome. 

One of the main employers in Uttoxeter is the global construction, materials handling and agricultural equipment company JCB. The firm is headquartered in Rocester, with other factories just outside Uttoxeter and two in Cheadle. Fox's Biscuits (previously Elkes and Adams) has a factory in Uttoxeter. Elkes were the creators of the famous malted milk biscuit. The town's proximity to the Alton Towers Theme Park and Resort, St. George's Park National Football Centre and the Peak District National Park means tourism is an important part of the local economy. Uttoxeter Racecourse, home to the Midlands Grand National, also brings a lot of visitors to the town, as do the town centre's shops and markets. A Farmers' market is held once a month. The town is set in rich dairy farming country and agriculture is still important to the local economy.

Uttoxeter is a focal point for the surrounding area, and has good rail and road connections to both East and West. There are 3 major supermarkets here, Asda, Tesco and Waitrose, as well as several convenience stores, and the usual mix of shops in the central shopping area. There are several Schools in the town, and as Staffordshire operates on a 3 School system, there are 3 main primary schools, 2 middle schools and one senior school in the town, as well as a Roman Catholic primary school. We have a part time Youth Worker who works in the schools in and around town. This is a joint project with other churches in the town and he takes assemblies and sets up Christian Clubs in the schools ​.
